A
road with gentle curves and undulations leaving you with
that essential interest - what is ahead?

Most
MG enthusiasts have routes that have a particular appeal and are
memorable for a variety of reasons - a route over roads with driver
appeal, a route with interesting views and places to visit along
the way, a route to a favourite place for refreshment with friends
or simply a route with fond memories.
A new series called Memorable MG Routes
has been launched
The first route is from Newbury to Castle
Combe along the old A4 through Marlborough, Calne and Chippenham.
More are in the pipeline but a key feature of this series is contributions
are welcome from members with their own memorable routes.
Memorable MG Routes are not simply about the tactile pleasure
of driving the road, particularly in an MG, but they are also
about the interest along the route from the views on the road,
places to visit, sights to see and of course refreshment at tea
shops and pubs! More

Yes
that is the theme of this series - a hedonistic approach to
MG motoring in all senses. So the aim of each route will focus
on those features and what makes them such a pleasure to drive
- in fact the qualities that make them memorable.
What are the guidelines for style,
content and format of the articles describing each route?
The style of the articles will convey a feel for the interesting
places and views to see and the delights of the route. The content
will outline the route and places of interest both on the route
and by taking short diversions. The format includes an information
column with condensed background notes on the places to see
and for refreshment, and a twin column layout for the text and
photos, all spread over up to two pages in Safety Fast! They
are not routes to be driven at speed or tulip routes involving
serious navigation, they are simply routes that give members
pleasure to drive and recall as fond memories.
