The
V8 Register is the leading specialist group for
MGV8 enthusiasts covering the MGBGTV8 built at Abingdon
and the modern classic, the MG RV8. We also welcome
the rapidly growing number of MGBV8 conversions, the
earlier Costello MGBV8s, the latest V8 powered MG X80
- now the incredible 965bhp XPower MG SV - and the stunning
MG ZT 260 V8.
The key strengths of the V8 Register are twofold:
Technical
support
With two series of workshop
notes for the MGBV8 and for the MG RV8, and an active
bulletin board where technical queries and tips
are posted and discussed and a V8LIFELINE,
a listing of recommended V8 specialists in the
UK and overseas providing maintenance and spares services
for MG V8 enthusiasts.
Social events
We have a programme of V8 Gatherings, most at MG Car Club
events - see the Rolling
V8 Calendar for details.

Compact
calendar of events
Rolling V8 Calendar
sets out the events throughout the year including the
V8 Curry Night,
two Sunday lunchtimes at Hazeley
Heath and the MG Car Club's annual International MG
Meeting at Silverstone. The V8 Tours have proved a popular
annual event over a long weekend in late September or
early October. |
 |
International
MG Meeting at Silverstone - this meeting is
the principal annual event put on by the MG Car Club.
The V8 Register has a large marquee alongside a dedicated
parking area where over 100 MGV8s gather on each day of
this popular long weekend meeting.
See the Silverstone
note. |
 |
24
heures du Mans - each year a party of V8 Register
enthusiasts attends this extraordinary event. We have
a useful note on planning a trip to
le Mans and details of the contacts for the event
can be found on the Rolling V8 Calendar.

How
is the V8 Website organised for easy navigation and information
retrieval?
The
Homepage is set up with three panels rather like a
tabloid newspaper with a centre panel and two smaller panels
to the left and right. The aim is to enable visitors to reach
most information needs within two clicks.
NEWS
NEWS
NEWS
Topical news items are posted in the centre panel which is
updated regularly. More

From time to time, the NEWS
postings are archived.
Navigation buttons
There are large navigation buttons on the lefthand
side which take you in one click to the popular areas of the
V8 Website. Across the top and at the bottom of the core webpages
there are grey navigation buttons to the key areas
and reference sections of the website like Registration, V8
Bulletin Board, Links, Contacts and Spares and Service which
takes you to the V8LIFELINE (a listing of V8 specialists).
Convenient Search box
On the righthand side of the Homepage you will find a Search
box where you simply type in the key words of an enquiry
- for example RV8 tool roll or overheating - and then press
Search when a list of links to webpages on the V8 Website
with that key word is produced. This is a really powerful
facility which will help you find information and answer many
of your queries.

Tips
So please do give it a try.
Quicklinks
The Homepage has been designed to make access to key areas
of the website very easy - you will find in the left hand
panel there is a series of convenient quicklinks which
take you straight to detailed information pages. So if for
example you are looking to get an RV8, simply scan down the
quicklinks and you will find a section of quicklinks on the
RV8 - what to pay for an RV8, information on RV8 reimports,
how the auction system works in Japan, regular reports from
the auctions, price trends, RV8s for Sale, and much more.
Similar information is also in the quicklinks panel for MGBGTV8s
and MGBV8 Conversions. On the right hand panel we have topical
photos and beneath those an update on where the two workshop
notes series have got to in terms of the arrival and addition
of new notes.
What's new on the website?
As
the V8 Website has become so "content rich", we
have introduced a convenient facility for regular users of
the website - we have a website update log so you can
check what has changed recently. You can reach the log from
the grey "Recent changes" button on the lefthand
side of the homepage.
